Job Description

Full Time Permanent Job Vacancy for a Registered Children’s Home Manager, Southampton.  Car Driver Essential.  We welcome applications from Deputy Managers looking to progress.

Key Information

  • £42K - £50K per annum (dependent on experience)
  • Mon-Fri, 09:00-17:00 (+ flexibility)

  • Level 5 Health & Social Care Children & Young People (or equivalent)
  • Experience working in a management position within a children’s residential home.
  • Experience supporting children and young people who display behaviour that challenges.
  • Full understanding of relevant legislations and regulations
  • Full UK Driving Licence

The Provider

This is a fun place to work with the therapeutic care been focussed very much on outdoor activities.  This is a well-established small – medium size, specialist residential childcare and education provider.  They pride themselves on creating bespoke, tailor made care packages to suit each child or young person as an individual.  They provide long-term and short-term placements dependent on the needs of the individual, to children and young people who display emotional, social, behavioural, and / or educational difficulties.  This provider encourages the use of the outdoors as a form of therapy, allowing the children and young people access to outdoor activities, farmland, and forestry school as alternative learning experiences.  They also have their own education facilities to ensure multi-agency working flows and each child is always at the centre.  With many reviews on leading employer review websites describing this provider as “passionate”, “committed” and “friendly”, they have a great ethos which travels through to both staff teams and young people making them a great organisation to work for.

The Home & Your Role

As a Residential Children’s Home Manager, your personality and experience will be matched with a specific home in the area, to ensure you and your team get the best from each other.  You will manage the day-to-day running of a home of up to 4 children and young people, whilst leading a team made up of deputy, team leader, seniors, and residential support workers.  You will ensure the home meets all standards in compliance and quality, helping this home and its staff team thrive.
