We are looking for a dedicated Team Leader (Learning Disabilities) looking to progress and become a Deputy Service Manager close to the Hemel Hempstead area of Hertfordshire. This is a permanent job vacancy.
This job may also suit candidates living close to St. Albans (13-minute commute via B487 & A5183), Berkhamsted (15-minutes via Nettleden Road), Luton (24-minutes via B487), and surrounding areas. The role is also easily commutable by local transport links.
- £11.13 per hour (£21,703 per annum).
- Full-time, 37.5 hours per week.

As their Team Leader/Deputy Manager, you will be an integral part of a residential care home/supported living for up to 9 service users living with Learning and Physical Disabilities. Rated Good by CQC, they have an established, friendly staff team. Everyone at the service is very welcoming, there is a fantastic vibe, and there are lots of fun activities for the service users/residents to enjoy. The activities vary from arts and crafts, shopping trips, and even fun days out at the zoo. Your responsibilities may include:
- Help ensure the delivery of high- quality care to the service users.
- Ensuring the staff team are equipped with necessary skills, training, and supervision.
- Review care plans to ensure they are up to date with individual needs.
- Ensure the implementation of quality measurements and monitoring,
- Deputising for the Manager in their absence.
Criteria
- You will have a minimum of NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
- You will have experience of working in a Senior/Team Leader/Deputy position for at least 1-year.
- Experience of working with people living with learning disabilities, mental health conditions and challenging behaviours is essential.
- It is preferred that you have a full driving licence and access to a vehicle.

You would play a key role in supporting the Managers and providing coaching and motivation to the dedicated team of Support Workers. You will help induct new team members, carry out supervisions, all whilst ensuring the welfare and safety of the young people you support.
Criteria
- Level 3 Health & Social Care - essential.
- Experience within a Senior/Supervisory/Team Leader role – essential.
- Experience working with children/young adults with Learning Disabilities, Complex needs, or SEN – essential.
- Strong leadership and ability to motivate as well as passion for sector – essential.
