Job description

Full and part-time, Young Adult Support Worker, permanent job vacancy, close to Royston, Hertfordshire. No experienced needed as excellent training provided.

This job is approximately a 10-minute/5-mile commute from Royston via the A10. The role may also be suitable for candidates living close to Stevenage and Cambridge.

Key Information

  • £20K - £22.5K per annum DOE (£9.65 - £10.70 per hour) + £1000 welcome bonus.
  • Night supplement of £25 per night shift worked.
  • Full-time, 40-hours per week.
  • Part-time hours also available.
  • 4-week shift rota pattern including alternate weekends.

  • Fully funded opportunity to gain Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care.

The Provider

We are recruiting on behalf of one of the UK’s biggest providers of residential care, supported living accommodation, education and support for young adults and children living with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Learning Disabilities. They have an impressive network of schools, colleges, and residential homes where they use their specialist facilities to focus on promoting independence amongst the young adults they support, developing life skills to help them achieve a bright future of their own choosing.

The Role

As a Young Adult Support Worker, your role will be key in helping the young people you support with their daily life skills and help promote independence. You will be involved in their individual therapies, but also helping them to continue to do the things they enjoy including shopping, trips to the cinema, arts and crafts, music, or even going to the pub. There may be elements of personal care involved when required, but don’t let that put you off, it isn’t always what you think it is and we will happily talk you through it.

About You

  • No professional experience is required as excellent training is provided.
  • Ability to build relationships & excellent communication skills – essential
  • Being enthusiastic, proactive, and having a passion for working within the sector – essential.
