Job description

Full-time Support Worker & Autism Companion, Job vacancy, Folkestone, Kent – No Experience Needed– Car Driver preferred but not essential.

This Support Worker & Autism Companion job is based a short commute from the centre of Folkestone, only 8-minutes (3-miles) via A260/A259. The role is also commutable from Dover via the 91A Dover to Folkestone bus service taking around 40-minutes.

The Service

Your Day-to-Day

As a Support Worker & Autism Companion, you will be spending your days encouraging vulnerable individuals to make the most of their day. The Supported Living service supports 7 adults living with Learning Disabilities and Complex Needs. They all enjoy living life to the full and love to get involved in lots of activities from trips to the cinema or theatre to arts and crafts and gardening. Your day could include:

  • Finding fun activities within the community, perhaps going on a bike ride with friends.
  • Encourage them to be as independent as possible, planning a daily routine.
  • Helping with job hunting & preparing for interviews.
  • Encouraging education opportunities.
  • Assisting and prompting with jobs around the house, like cooking and light cleaning.
  • Building positive relationships.
  • Set goals and plans to achieve together.
