Job description

Full-time, Children’s Residential Support Worker/Practitioner, permanent job vacancy, close to the Morecambe area of Lancashire. It is essential that you have a driving licence and access to a vehicle.

This job role is based a short 13-minute/4.5-mile commute from Morecambe via the A589 and is on the outskirts of Lancaster.

You could be joining a special organisation who provide residential care for young people living with Emotional Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and Learning Disabilities.

Key Information

  • £21,249 per annum with no previous experience (earn up to £26,910 per annum with sleeps).
  • £23,281 per annum with Level 3 in Children & Young People (earn up to £28,897 per annum with sleeps).
  • £78.00 per sleep-in, approximately 6 per month
  • Full-time hours, 42-hours per week on rota basis.
  • Mix of shifts & sleep ins, every other weekend off.
  • Training and support towards further qualifications.
  • Level 3 in Residential Childcare or Children & Young People Workforce preferred.
  • You will ideally have worked within a similar setting, in education or a care job, or working as an Adult Support Worker.

Your Role

As their Residential Support Worker/Practitioner, you will be part of a mixed 5-bedded children’s home aged between 8-18. you will play a pivotal role in supporting the children. You will be helping them with daily living tasks and encouraging them to learn so they can have the most positive future possible. You will help them become independent young adults and continue to do all the fun things they love the most, from going to the cinema or an escape room, trampolining, playing football, and just enjoying life like all children should.
