We have a unique job vacancy for a Registered Children’s Home Manager for a newly opening service in the Preston area of Lancashire. A Car Driver is essential.

The Home

The newly opening children’s residential home will be 3 Bedroom home for Children aged 6-18 years of age. As their Registered Manager they would like you very much to be part of the commissioning of the home, recruiting a staff team and looking at the décor, making it as homely as possible for the children. With the support of the senior management team your duties will include:

  • Registering the service with Ofsted.
  • Commissioning the service
  • Implementing Policies and procedures
  • Recruitment of your team
  • Networking to gain referrals
  • The Day to management of the service
  • Creating a fantastic place to live and work.
  • Handling any referrals

Senior Children's Support Worker

We are recruiting for a Senior Children’s Support Worker to join a recently renovated children’s residential home.

Location: Preston, Lancashire.

Salary: Up to £27K per annum + benefits.

Job Type: Full-time, 24-hour shifts, 10 shifts per month (rota discussed at interview).

We are recruiting on behalf of a 5-bedded home for children aged 11-18 with Emotional Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). They are a small provider which means that they put the children at the forefront of everything they do. It also means that as a Senior Support Worker you will always be fully supported by a robust team. You are surrounded by a team who are all ready to support each other. They want to put the children first and watch them with pride as they grow into young adults.


  • Experience of working with Children in a Residential Care Home.
  • Level 3 in Residential Childcare or equivalent.
  • Worked for at least one year in a Supervisor/Senior role.
  • Being a car driver is essential.
  • You must be over the age of 21.

Registered Childrens Home Manager

We are looking for a Registered Children’s Home Manager close to the Preston area of Lancashire.

This is a really exciting opportunity for the right candidate because the role will see you aiding the Deputy Manager to take over registration after 18-months while you take up an Operations & Responsible Individual role overseeing several homes. However, we any Registered Children’s Home Manager based elsewhere in the UK and willing to relocate to a beautiful part of the UK, there’s an £8K relocation package too.  

  • £50K per annum starting salary & Performance Related Bonus.
  • £5K Car Allowance.
  • £8K relocation package available.
  • Salary increasing to £60K per annum once Operations Manager.

The Provider & Home

Opened in 2019 this home has been substantially renovated, it includes a gym, outbuildings geared up for arts/crafts and education workshops. They also have a separate supported living unit, which is wonderful for an Older Child as they progress into Adulthood. Working for a small provider means that they put the children and the forefront of everything they do. It also means that as a Registered Children’s Home Manager you are fully supported by a robust team. This includes a Chief Executive, HR Department, 2 Deputy Managers, Clinical Psychologist, In-house Therapists on the team as well as a highly experienced Responsible Individual and a fantastic team of Residential Support Workers.

As the Registered Children’s Home Manager, you would initially oversee a 5 bedded home for children aged 11-18. The children are all living with Emotional/Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). You are in a completely autonomous role but surrounded by a team who are all ready to support each other. You are in complete control of your budget, which means you can plan activities for the kids. You will be managing the referral process with the support of your colleagues, as well helping the children deal with their past trauma and their behaviours and improving their lives to prepare for adulthood. They want to put the Children first and watch them with pride as they grow into young adults.

About You

For this job you will need:

  • Experience of working with Children in a Residential Care Home
  • Within the last five years, worked for at least 2 years in Deputy Manager job or above.
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare
  • Worked for at least one year in a role requiring supervision and management.

Childrens Residential Team Leader

We are looking to recruit a Full Time, Children’s Residential Team Leader living close to the Lancaster area of Lancashire.

You could be joining a dedicated team of people who actually care. This small home is in a quaint little village near the old market town of Kirby Lonsdale, but also a stone’s throw away from the blowy Yorkshire Dales. The home is easily commutable from Lancashire, North Yorkshire and the South Lakes, Cumbria. Within 25 miles from Lancaster, Heysham, Kendal & Skipton.

Essential Criteria

  • Level 3 Diploma Health & Social Care Children & Young People/Adults or equivalent
  • It is essential you have at least 2 years’ experience with children with EBD
  • Driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Over the age of 21.

The Home

The home has a “Good” proven track and is a home for 5 young people of both genders, aged between 8-18. Back in the day it was an Old Guest House, so there is plenty of spacious communal areas and a garden full of all creatures great and small.

This is a home for children and young people who have Learning Disabilities and some Mental Health needs, but it is also registered with Ofsted for emotional behavioural difficulties (EBD). There are endless opportunities in this job too, their manager started as Support Worker and has progressed to Senior roles through the company, so with hard work and dedication you could follow in their footsteps.

Hours, Rates & Benefits

  • £24,853 - £25,399 per annum DOE, (£31K including sleeps)
  • £78 per sleep in (Average of 6 Sleeps per month)
