Permanent job vacancy, part-time Support Worker close to the Middlesbrough area of Cleveland/Teesside to support a young 25-year-old man living with Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy in his own home. Car Drivers essential.
This role is based in Yarm and is a 9mile/18-minute commute from Middlesbrough via the A66. It may also suit someone living in Stockton-on-Tees as it is a 5.5miles/15-minute commute via A135/Yarm Road.
The gentleman is a fun-loving young man who lives in his own family home which is adapted for his needs. He is like any other 25-year-old, always active, sociable, and always doing something, whether that be a physio appointment or enjoying one of the activities he loves. He has several different and varied hobbies that he enjoys. He enjoys playing wheelchair football, horse riding, drumming, hospital radio flying, and more. Part of your role as one of his Support Workers is to keep him doing the things he loves and living life to the full.
You will be part of a team providing 2:1 support to this gentleman. You will play a key part working alongside his family and a team of Therapists to support client’s ongoing rehabilitation. You will follow his specific care/support plan, ensuring his welfare, and safety at all times. There will be aspects of personal care involved in the role. You will gain valuable experience which would support a long-lasting career in the field.
