We are recruiting for an Adult Support Worker to join a Supported Living Service supporting adults living with Learning Disabilities, Physical Disabilities, and complex needs. No experience is needed, as full training is provided.

Location: Nottingham, Nottinghamshire.

Salary: £9.50 per hour plus £62.64 per sleep (£9.18 per hour for under 23s).

Job Type: Permanent, Full-time, part-time & bank hours available.

We are recruiting on behalf of a unique provider who promote independence for adults living with Disabilities, Autism, Mental Health conditions, and complex needs in their own flat or Supported Living scheme.

As an Adult Support Worker, you will encourage the person you support and most of all, have a positive impact on a person’s life. Helping them live life to the full, no matter what the barrier. So, the key criteria for this job is that you are enthusiastic, have a positive personality, you care for the individual you support, and have a passion for working within the sector.

Job Role

• Help them learn life skills & assist with daily living skills.
• Preparing meals together & supporting them to appointments.

What does support mean?

Every single person with a learning disability is unique, their disability is unique, their personality is unique, and their aspirations and goals are unique. Learning Disabilities, Autism and Asperger’s is becoming more and more prevalent in society with many families knowing at least one person or family who have a child or relative with a Learning Disability.

When you support someone with a Learning Disability as a Support Worker you are their advocate, their friend and the one person they can rely on to keep them safe. You will encourage them, motivate them, and ensure they live a life open to the same opportunities as everyone else. You will support them by:

• Ensuring they have a routine.
• Keep up to date with their bills & are sensible with their money.
• Encourage them to keep their house tidy (not everyone loves housework!)
• Preparing meals together, and teaching someone cooking skills.
• Doing activities together that the person loves.
• Sharing a hobby.
• Going to the football or doing some crafts.
• Supporting them to appointments, visiting the gym or days out.
• Enjoying each other’s company and been someone they trust.

We are recruiting for an Adult Team Leader to be a part of a Supported Living service for young adults with Learning Disabilities and complex needs.

Location: Stevenage, Hertfordshire.

The job is about a 10-minute commute from Stevenage.

Salary: £24,291 per annum.

Job Type: Permanent, full-time hours.

As Adult Team Leader, you will be key in mentoring and supervising the staff team, ensuring that the highest level of support is provided to the adults you support to help them live life to the full, but also to your staff team.

Criteria

• Minimum 1-years’ experience working with adults with Learning Disabilities or Physical Disabilities, or Complex Needs - essential.
• NVQ Level 3 Health & social Care or be working towards – essential.
• Experience as a Senior/Supervisor/Team Leader - desirable.
• Car driver with access – preferred due to location of the service.
