  • I can understand why the training is award winning, I learned so much in my first week.
  • I met some fantastic people, who I know will be friends for life!
  • I was matched and introduced to Maggie, Eric & Mary who I would be mainly visiting and lived in the next village.
  • They all have different personalities, but we all get on so well and also have fun!
  • Because we spend quality time together, we feel at ease & I know their quirky ways/likes & dislikes.
  • My visits are never less than an hour long which is perfect for baking together or going to the shops.

“I worked as a Teacher for many years, but as I reached retirement age, I still wanted to work in the community. I discovered this organisation four years ago – not soon enough! I love my job, its part-time, so I have plenty of time to spend with my Grandchildren. I have a small number of clients, who have become good friends. I cannot believe I get to do this as “a job”! My client visits vary, some are housebound, and I offer them support within their home, do a food shop for them, and keep the home tidy. One of my ladies likes me to run her a bath, help her get in and out and wash her hair. One client just enjoys my company, and we have tea and cake and a good natter. I have a client, who I support with his journey living with dementia, we spend lots of time reminiscing and singing. I help keep him safe at home and prepare his meals.” Sue, Community Care & Dementia Companion.
