Support Worker

Job description

We are recruiting for a Support Worker to support a young male living with Cerebral Palsy.

Location: Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Tyne & Wear.

Salary: £11.00 - £13.00 per hour (£22.00 per hour bank holidays).

Job Type: Permanent, full-time, shift pattern can be discussed.

We are recruiting on behalf of a young 12-year-old boy with Cerebral Palsy living in his family home. As a Support Worker, you will be part of a small team maximising this young man’s independence and quality of life. Helping him with activities and hobbies he enjoys, administering medication, assisting with personal care, preparing meals and snacks, and housekeeping duties.

Working in this role requires you to be a positive, enthusiastic person to match the boy’s personality. It will also be an opportunity to gain knowledge and experience of providing care and support as you will collaborate with multi-disciplinary professionals.

Criteria

• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Social Care - desired.
• Experience of working with people with Disabilities/challenging behaviours – preferred.
• Experience of working within an education setting – essential.
• Excellent communication skills, resilience & willingness to learn- essential.
• Driving licence – essential.
