Job Description

We are recruiting for a Support Worker Complex Needs in the Leeds area of West Yorkshire.

This permanent job vacancy may be suitable for candidates living in the Morley, Gildersome, Pudsey, Rothwell, Oakwood, and surrounding areas of Leeds.

  • £9.90 per hour + £63 per sleep.
  • Full-time and part-time hours available.
  • Shift patterns include 7am – 2:30pm, 2pm – 9:30pm over 7 days including weekends.
  • Including 1 sleep per week.
  • 20-days paid annual leave plus bank holidays.

The Provider

We are recruiting on behalf of a registered charity established in the 1970s, starting off with just one service. Meeting people like you has allowed them to grow and support more than 2000 individuals with disabilities, mental health conditions and acquired brain injuries in Supported Living services and their own homes. Your Role

As their Support Worker, you will be supporting 1 person in their own or a shared house who is living with Learning Disabilities and complex needs. The aim of your role is to help that person have as much control over their own life as possible. The role is varied; but very rewarding. The role will also include:

  • Assisting with cooking & cleaning.
  • Providing personal care when required.
  • Managing finances.
  • Supporting with medication & to attend appointments.
  • Helping with shopping & to continue with activities that the person enjoys.

Criteria

  • 6-months personal or professional experience working with adults with Learning Disabilities & Complex Needs.
  • Care certificate training preferred, but not essential.
  • Full driving licence – essential.

You will ensure the team is encouraging and supporting the individual/s with everyday living, this includes socially activities, physical activities, offering housing & financial advice, learning life skills such as cooking, budgeting whilst ensuring that they are safe within their home and the wider community.
