Deputy Children's Home Manager

Permanent, full-time, Registered Children’s Home Manager job vacancy, close to Worcester, Worcestershire.

We have a unique opportunity to become a Registered Children’s Home Manager close to Worcester and is about a 40-minute commute via the M5.

We are looking for a Registered Manager who is looking for a fresh opportunity and who would love to be part of something that they can put their own stamp on, putting the children at the forefront of everything. The job vacancy may also suit a talented Deputy Manager who is ready to make the next step in their career and step up to become a Registered Manager. Key Information & Criteria

• Up to £52K per annum DOE + bonus.
• Benefits include Blue Light card, counselling service, & contribution scheme.
• 33 days paid holiday per annum & 10 days sick leave per annum.
• 4-bedded home.
• Level 3 Children & Young People / Residential Care essential.
• Minimum 3-years’ experience in a Children’s Residential setting.  
• A proven track record in a leadership/management role in a Children’s Residential service.
• Car Driver desirable.
• They will put you through your Level 5 Leadership & Management too if you do not already hold this qualification.

The Home

The home is decorated to a high standard, it is modern, and is a safe haven for the children to grow and flourish. There is a real homely, family feel to the home, and it is a wonderful place to work. Set in large peaceful gardens, with wooded areas and a pond, there is lots for the children to enjoy. There is seating areas and open space for lots of fun activities including BBQs in the summer. All of the children’s rooms are uniquely named to tie together the whole therapeutic approach this provider follows.

The Children

The children supported within this home will receive the very best therapeutic support available to them from the team, but also the on-site Therapist. As a small provider, the focus will be on achieving and working to Ofsted requirements to provide a unique tailored approach, individual to the child, whilst providing them a safe and nurturing environment to thrive.

Salary: £50K per annum starting salary + bonus (increasing to £60K per annum) + relocation bonus.

The job is based in Preston, Lancashire, but there is an £8K relocation package available. Initially you will take registration and mentor the Deputy Manager to take over registration after 18-months while you progress into an Operations role and oversee several homes.

The home has recently been renovated to a high standard and as Registered Manager you will be autonomous in your role. The children you support are living with Emotional Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), and you will be key in helping them grow into young adults. You will manage the referral process, manage the budget, and mentor the staff team.

Criteria

• Experience of working with Children in a Residential Care Home – essential.
• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare – essential.
• Within the last five years, worked for at least 2 years in Deputy Manager job or above.
• Worked for at least one year in a role requiring supervision and management.
