About Us

We are the Youth Adventure Trust, a pioneering charity that inspires young people to realise their potential using a combination of one-to-one support and outdoor adventure.

For the last 25 years, we have helped over 3,800 vulnerable young people aged 11 – 15 by providing more than 27,000 activity days, including outdoor activities, music, arts, woodland and animation workshops.

We are currently looking for an Adventure Programme Support Manager to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis.

The Benefits

- Salary of £29,000 - £31,000 per annum
- 25 days of holiday per annum, plus public holidays

This is a brilliant opportunity for someone experienced at working with young people and with volunteer management skills to become part of an organisation that's empowering young people to build resilience and create lasting memories.

Joining a supportive team, you will have the chance to build your skills and expertise, whilst enabling young people to achieve their potential. Your role will also play a critical role in helping us deliver our mission.

The Role

As an Adventure Programme Support Manager, you will support both volunteers and young people on our Adventure Programme.

In this dual role combining programme support with volunteer management, you will provide a support function at activity days and camps and will be involved in direct one-to-one activities with young people.

You will also work alongside the Volunteering Lead to recruit, manage and support our volunteers, to ensure they are enabled to deliver positive experiences and outcomes for the young people we work with.

As part of your role, you will be required to work some evenings and weekends as well as attending a handful of residential trips.

About You

To be considered as an Adventure Programme Support Manager, you will need:

- Experience of working with young people aged 11-14, preferably in a residential environment
- Experience of working with volunteers in the third sector, including recruiting, supporting and managing volunteers
- Experience of delivering training and strong facilitation skills
- Experience of working in partnership with other professional organisations
- Knowledge of volunteering issues and legal requirements
- Excellent administrative skills
- A full, valid driving licence and access to your own vehicle

Please note, a satisfactory Enhanced DBS Disclosure with Children’s Barred List will be required for this post.
