Duties

As Assistant Head Teacher you will a Secondary Lead and an inspirational leader.  Duties will include:
  • Support the Head Teacher & Deputy to develop the schools’ values and development plans.
  • 50% Timetabled teaching to model the best practice and develop the teaching team.
  • Communicating the schools’ vision compellingly.
  • Day to day management of the school.
  • Responsibility for the Secondary part of the school.
  • Curriculum, progress, achievement and qualifications and personal development of pupils.
  • Leadership & Management.
  • Lead Teaching & Learning and behaviour and attendance.
  • Safeguarding to support the SLT and the safety of students.

Criteria
  • A recognised teacher training qualification (Cert Ed/PGCE/QTS or QTS/Teaching Diploma).
  • Thorough knowledge of the curriculum and adaptation to pupils with Autistic Spectrum Disorder.
  • Experience of working and teaching young people with ASD and an SEN Environment.
  • Excellent IT Skills
  • Experience in a leadership role and raising standards.
  • Experience of motivating and managing staff teams.
